Some people think that in Spain it is always warm and tropical. The area where Scooby is, is one of extremes. In the summer the temperature often rises above the 40 degrees, but in the winter it can be freezing cold for a very long time. And this is when our Galgos need some extra protection, a coat to protect them against the elements of nature. And where many dogs live together, many coats are needed. Fortunately we have some people who work very hard to provide us with dog coats.

Bets and Anny from the Netherlands made dozens of coats for our dogs, and on the photos you can see the latest ones in very fashionable colours, brought to Scooby by Bets’ niece Dineke, a regular visitor of our shelter. Also the coats that are damaged, obviously hard to avoid with so many dogs living together, are repaired by them if possible. The model on the photo is our Miratu, and she wears a fine handmade violet coat, with extra stitches on the edges, imitation leather on the outside and fleece on the inside, to keep the dog both warm and dry, and the picture is made complete with a matching collar.

Miratu and the other dogs are very grateful to all the people who work so hard for them to stay warm. So thanks in name of them for all who provided us with dog coats.
