When I arrived in the shelter I was pleased to see that one of them produced a lot of crap, but the interesting part of it is that is was solid, and the puppy is doing better and jumps and plays, which, after the disasters we had at the shelter with the parvovirus, it sounded like celestial music. So I called Ma Jose to tell her about it and so she could listen to the puppy, I have finished giving the medication and took the car to pick up Mabel, for we had agreed to go to a Crafts Fair in Portugal. My first anger happened just coming out of the shelter when I found a dead Galgo lying in the gutter. I’m almost sure that it was the brother of a Galgo I picked up last week, with a rope around his neck; you must imagine what the rope was for. We arrived too late for him. Even when he escaped hanging, I guess he couldn’t escape to being ran over, as many others whom we can’t save. The hunting season has begun, and with the season dogs are killed at any rate. A season of abandonment has begun, a running over season has began, a season where we find dead dogs in the gutters, or dogs to which we have to amputate a leg or similar things.
Alter taking some pictures I went to Zamora, where I picked up Mabel and we went to Vimioso, in Portugal. Once we arrived, the first thing we saw was two dogs which looked as if they were abandoned. The female had uterine prolapse, and they didn’t trust us. We thought they belong to someone, so we went into the fair, a bit fast and not paying really attention because we were worried about what we had left outside, so after ten minutes we were outside again and there were the dogs, waiting for us. We decided they would be much better off in Scooby, so we picked them up and took them to the car.
The truth is that, after seeing what I saw, I was left with the sensation that it is absolutely necessary to open Scooby Portugal. So now, we only need to find financing, for we are really looking forward to it, after seeing what we saw. Anyway, we can’t save them all, we can’t change the world, but I can assure you that the world, for these two dogs we have picked up, has radically changed. See you soon, Fermín
