This time I want to talk to you about security. I remind you that some time ago we were stolen five lambs from Scooby. This made us think that Scooby needed more security. For this, at the beginning of the year we decided to install a double fence. We began to fence in, and we ran short of Money more or less in the middle. Most of the cost was paid by GINN and also by some of the Belgian volunteers. This summer, and alter receiving several threats against our animals  from the part of some “beasts”, to call them some way, I decided that we had to finish fencing as soon as possible, even if we didn’t have the money to pay for it.

Taking this risked decision was due to the fact in the last months, the farms surrounding Scooby have been robbed by undesirable people who also committed destructions. We trust that the police from Medina will take charge and will intervene in the affair and will make a big effort to arrest the criminals, but in the meantime, I decided that we had to finish the fence. The last assault was committed in a farm that is at less than one kilometre from Scooby, and there they have killed two cats, one beat to death and the second one burned, and a third one is seriously wounded with burns and is nowadays in our clinic for him to him recover. They have attacked this same place several times, killing several dogs, either shooting them, kicking them or burning them.

This summer, just in front of Scooby, next to what was the old shelter, the vandals have entered killing all the ducks, hens, several cats and have burned a warehouse and part of the house. They have also attacked and burned the facilities that are only 300 meters from Scooby. Because these facts have been occurring  too often, we would like to ask Medina’s police force to do everything they can to end these assaults as soon as possible. Due to all this, we have decided to end the fence, and it has already been finished. Now comes the worst part, and it’s that we have to pay for it, and I’m sorry to tell you, but we need you, because the invoice will be of more than € 25000. I know it is a lot, but our land is big and our animals safety is essential. I’m sure that as in other occasions, we’ll make it. Thanks in advance, I know I ask too much, but we need it.
