The Municipal Kennel of Valladolid depends directly on the City Council of Valladolid and it picks up abandoned dogs as well as dogs that have an owner as long as they have got microchip registered in Valladolid. In this way they can make a selection and a control of the maximum entrance of dogs.

At present there are between 35 and 40 dogs, they are allocated in individual enclosures or at the most they share it in two. The enclosures are made of concrete and are kept very clean and each of them has a partial top roof covered part. They also have a Web Site where to find possible adopters, but despite of it there are very little adoptions and at a certain moment they must put dogs into sleep. This kennel is not the typical Spanish perrera that waits for 15 days period of time and if the dog does not succeed in being adopted they euthanize it, but even so they must do it some times.

That’s the reason why we decided to collaborate with them within our possibilities.

On Monday 17th we went to collect some dogs, we took 14 of them (mixed breeds, puppies, galgos, mastins). Before that Fermín, Resy and Jan went to visit them. They went there to evaluate which dogs were more troublesome, which ones were going to be put into sleep, etc. And after their evaluation we took the dogs with us.

Now we are in the process of incorporating them in the shelter:

They have been introduced in the quarantine rooms and registered, now they have to be given the vaccinations, de-worm them, they also have to be neutered and after that will be incorporated in the patios and put in our web site for adoption.

We wish them the best of the lucks and that finally find a home where to be taken care of and be loved. Cross fingers and wish them that after having traveled from one kennel to another kennel and to a refuge their destiny will not be the worst.

They are also going through the process...

They are getting used to the new place...

And getting used to new people...

And,

What about you? Are you willing to know them?

Then, do not hesitate to contact us at Scooby.

Best regards to you all.

María
