Dear Scooby friends,

We are Johan and Leny Marteijn from Westkapelle, The Netherlands. We are the proud adoption parents of Axel and Jojo, both Scooby Galgos. Because we wanted to do our part of support for Scooby, we decided to collect money with our own flea market.

First we went through our closets for things we never used, because through the years one collects a lot of things. Our intention was to sell this in front of our own front door. Unfortunately the street became under construction, and without street, obviously no potential buyers. Later I met Bep, a lovely woman with the heart on the right place, especially concerning animals. Bep offered her garage for the flea market. You should know that Westkapelle is a tourist village close to the Dutch coast line and Bep lives in the main street, so what a location!

A table and a bookcase were brought in so that we could present our goods. And it only took a short while before we sold almost all our goods. But fortunately there were Yvonne, Rob, Bea and Eefje, all of them also involved with Scooby. They supplied a new load of good and books, enough to sell the whole summer through. Also people spontaneously offered us very nice goods to sell.

What we intended to do on a small scale, grew out to become quite big. So that is only good for Scooby. Maybe it is an idea for other people who care about the faith of the galgos and other animals at Scooby. To try to sell your own waste goods for a nice price. You could make somebody else happy with it, and the profit is for Scooby. This way we can all do our share of support! The animals deserve your support, too!!! No goods? Our hand made goods like post cards or ornaments sell very well, and our Bep even knits socks!
